Primus Hyadum System Gas giant with moon in the habitable zone System: Primus Hyadum Primary Star: Gamma Tauri, HD 27371 Stellar Type: G8III ☼ Companion Star(s): None Distance from Earth: 154 ly Constellation: Taurus Region: Hyades Population: 24 Million
Summary: Primus Hyadum is named because it is the first star in seen from Earth in the Hyades cluster. The system’s star is a g-class giant star that was once a white a or f class star. The star is orbited by a Jupiter sized gas giant at distance of 8 au. A long time ago this world was a lot like Jupiter in appearance and temperature, until the star blew up into a giant causing the planet to warm up to Earth-like temperatures. These types of worlds are common around giant stars. A small water covered moon dotted with green islands orbits the gas giant. Cities were built on these islands and today the moon holds a decent population. Closest Inhabited Systems (20 ly):
